Definition: Business Process Offshoring (abbreviated BPO) is the practice of (mostly Western) companies of hiring overseas companies to handle functions like customer care and billing services.
Also Known As: Business Process Outsourcing, BPO
Examples: Some companies use Business Process Offshoring in an attempt to reduce their costs by hiring companies in India to operate their call centers.
