Theory X

By F. John Reh, About.com

Definition: Douglas McGreagor's Theory X states that some people have an inherent dislike for work and will avoid it whenever. These people need to be controlled and coerced by their managers to achieve production. See Theory Y for the opposite.
Examples: When I am being a boss rather than a leader I am using the Theory X approach.
