Norwegian Witch Gets Business Grant
Wednesday October 22, 2003
Associated Press (AP) reports witch Lena Skarninga of Oslo, Norway received a $7,453 grant from the Norwegian Industrial and Regional Development Fund (SND) to start a business "mixing elixirs for clients, selling wares door-to-door and making house calls".
SND says it was enchanted by her business plan, not by some witch's potion. Skarninga had attended a seminar on entrepreneurship and then applied for the grant. Her business plan was "pretty reasonable and well thought-out" according to SND spokesman Ove Gahren.
