Australian newspaper The Age reports that EOWA, the Government's equal opportunity agency, has published figures showing that women hold just 8.8 per cent of executive management positions. This compares to 15.7% in the US. Some of the obstacles cited in the EOWA report include women not getting "the kind of across-the-board, money-making experience necessary for promotion", stereotyped attitudes from male colleagues, and limited child-care availability.
