Multi-tasking is more popular, but chunking is more effective. Learn how you can use the human brain's memory utilization to be better at your job and everything you do. The problem is that multi-tasking doesn't work; chunking does. Which Works Best For You?

For Crist's Sake

Chunking is doing things one after another, and I multitask, otherwise, I wouldn't be able to sign my name and stamp something at the same time -.-

MultiTasking harms in longer run

nature of my job is operational, Multitasking reduces the quality of works but you gets a lot of work done. -it gets you distracted if in middle of imp job to non important. -reduces the qualty, of course its good for labours . -Changes your thinking habits permanently as you are no longer in habit of thinking long. -leaves you uncertain about outcomes of your activities, as again you have to multitask to get the status. -you may commit a serious mistake if -interrupted in middle of important critical job. -Multitasking is not good at all. However it can not be avoided in jobs like operation where emergency and unplanned outage can not be predicated. -It is curse of industrialization.

Multitasking versus Chunking

I prefer the chunking method rather than multitasking. Its far way more effective than multitasking.

I really need to learn to multi-chunk

Picking to either multi task or chunk is not good enough. The competition is intense, and cheap labor is devouring the old american way. To stay employed we need to step it up and do whatever it takes. 24-7. We need to split the brain and make it pull its weight. Lets get the right half chunking and the left half multitasking. Yeah, yeah, thats the ticket. Push, push, push...... ha ha ha !!!

Mrs

I use multi-tasking because I am a pioneer Registrar of a University and my organization depend on me to sort out a lot of issues not directly related to my duties as indicated in our statue. However, I do agree that chunking is the better method if you are in charge in your organization.
