Some of the "numbers" you need to manage your business come from within your organization, but other important ones come from outside the company. In the US, a lot of those outside numbers come from the federal government. Here is where to find them.
Federal Government Agencies Directory
If you need to find a U.S. federal government agency, this directory from the LSU libraries, is the place to start. It lists agencies and their sub-agencies in all branches of the federal government and has hyperlinks to most of them.

This new US Department of Labor web site is designed to help employers determine which laws apply to their business. It also provides links to compliance information.
Trade Information Center
The U.S. Department of Commerce's Trade Information Center provides information about all federal export assistance programs.
Small Business Startup Kit
From the US Small Business Administration, tips on getting started, finding financing, regulations, and resources.
Employment Law Guide
The US Department of Labor publishes the Employment Law Guide. The Guide helps you find out which requirements apply to your business and provides links to requirements so you can develop wage, benefit, safety and health, and nondiscrimination policies.
