Definition: RFP is the abbreviation for Request for Proposal. An RFP is issued when an organization wants to buy something and chooses to make the specifications available to many other companies so they can submit competitive bids.
Also Known As: Request for Proposal, RFQ, Request for Quotation
Examples: We issued an RFP for the expansion of our factory and three engineering companies submitted proposals.
