Yesterday I alluded to a company that is using a registered trademark to protect its intellectual property. Another type of intellectual property is your trade secrets. You need to protect them as well. A good way to protect such intellectual property, commonly called IP, is through the use of a Non-Disclosure Agreement or NDA.

If you want to discuss your software or other trade secrets with a potential partner company, you need to make sure your IP is protected. If you are going to be working with other companies as part of a distributed team, regardless of whether they are foreign companies or not, you need to make sure your intellectual property is protected. Read Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) To Protect Your Intellectual Property to find out how to avoid the mistake of not covering your assets.
