I have argued many times that from a management perspective, restricted stock is much better than stock options for motivating employees to think and act like owners. The recent collapse of the stock markets gives you a great opportunity to move away from the outmoded stock option incentive plan you have been using and to start a more effective incentive plan based on restricted stock grants.
