Will You Take All Your Vacation?

Thursday May 17, 2007

It is time again for our somewhat annual summer vacation poll. What are your plans for this summer? Will you take more vacation than last year? Will you take all you earned. Take our 2007 vacation poll and tell us your vacation schedule for this year.

The last time we conducted the summer vacation poll was in 2004. The American Management Association (AMA) had reported 28 percent of respondents planned to take more vacation than the previous summer. That reflected the improving economy and upswing in hiring. Employees were not quite so afraid of losing their job if they took time off. Our 2004 Vacation Poll showed more than two-thirds of those who responded planned to take all their vacation or more than the previous year.

Our 2003 vacation poll confirmed published reports that a quarter of all Americans didn't take all their vacation that year.

If you aren't planning to take vacation this summer, you should read the articles in our Work/Life Balance resources.
