Finance For Non-financial Managers
Friday March 19, 2004
Corporate finance isn't difficult. It may be complex, and it may have lots of zeros, but it isn't tough. Why then do so many intelligent managers, who are good with numbers and balance their checkbooks with ease, get thrown off when discussions of corporate finance start?
There is help. In 1994, Paradigm Learning developed Zodiak: The Game of Business Finance and Strategy, "a fun, fast-paced, forward-thinking business simulation that lets players experience the "big picture" of success, then act upon it." This could be just the thing to help your non-financial managers "get" corporate finance.

We used Zodiak at my last company – it was great! I’ve taken other “finance” courses in college (undergrad and graduate level) and none of those courses can compare to what I learned in Zodiak. I even had my direct reports go through the program and they were all individual contributors. When I left, they were still talking about how much they learned and enjoyed the program.
