Finally. Visible Business Ethics.
Tuesday November 25, 2003
Monday (11/24/03), Boeing fired CFO Michael Sears, the heir-apparent to CEO Phil Condit. Sears was fired for violating the company's ethics rules. It's about time a senior executive was held to the standards that these companies profess to have. Even more encouraging, Forbes.com reports that Sears will not "receive severance pay beyond options and share grants that have already vested." Maybe big business is finally getting the message.
